Anesthesiology Housestaff Manual

Welcome

The Department of Anesthesiology is fully committed to providing the best possible resident education in a clinically exciting and challenging environment. The resident completing this training program will be well-prepared for the practice of Anesthesiology in any scenario – academic or private. Through participation in morning conferences, simulator sessions, direct patient care, individual reading and research, the resident will gain all the tools needed to become a consultant in the specialty – an expert in perioperative medicine.

This manual will help you successfully navigate through the many different areas of the health science center where you will work. This manual will provide you with all the goals and objectives of your training as well as insight into the environment in which your training must take place. Careful review of this manual will help you understand our expectations of you as well as make you aware of all the tools that are available to help you meet your goals. Your Chairman and Program Director are available at all times to talk with you about any issues or concerns that you may have. We are absolutely committed to making your educational experience here a valuable one, and one that will make you feel for the rest of your career that you are part of the University of Florida Anesthesiology Family.
